Make your own bundle-dyed t-shirt

Plant dye fabric with Sara Bower, Lil & co and Zoe Evans, Prints By Nature.

Sara and Zoe are natural dyers by trade and are combining forces to deliver a workshop in their native Wales. Join them at their studios over at The Sustainable Studios for a session of plant magic.

What to expect:

During the session, you will learn how to prepare your fiber, how to choose the right natural dyes for your project, and how to create a bundle and steam your fabric to create a beautiful plant-based texture.

All dyes, tools and equipment will be provided simply bring your own notebook and fabric or shirt to bundle dye.

What to bring:

As everyone has their own wonderful shape, size and fashion style we encourage you to bring a t-shirt, shirt or blouse to be dyed during the session. Please note, no sheets or fabrics larger than 50 cm x 50 cm. We advise not to bring items with synthetic fibres such as polyester, as they are less effective when dyed using natural dyes. Ideal fabrics are cotton, silk, linen and hemp. Sadly, wool is not advised for this technique. If you do not have a suitable item, please get in touch as a small number of t-shirts will be available for purchase ahead of the session.

The aim of this class is to make beautiful prints and colours on the shirts we're dying not the ones we are wearing. Please make sure to wear clothes that you don't mind getting messy. A limited amount of aprons will be available during the session.

The general T's and C's:

A limited number of places are available so first come, first served. Registration is binding. No refunds will be issued for non-attendance.

We reserve the right to cancel or advance the session if needed.

As this class will require occasional tool and equipment sharing in close proximity we humbly asking that any attendees who are having Covid like symptoms please contact either Sara or Zoe prior to event to arrange for a credit note for future events rather then attend this session.

Though the current guidance is that face masks are not required, you are welcome to wear a mask during the session.

Finally, note that there are stairs to access the venue. If you have any accessibility requirements, please contact Sara or Zoe ahead of the session.
